Organisational Behaviour Management is the discipline that is concerned with behavioural change in organisations. Rather then looking at changing behaviour, OBM is focussed on changing the environment the behaviour takes place. It holds a core belief that the behaviour of people is followed by the environment/context a person is in. B.F. Skinner already said behaviour is a function of its consequences.
OBM is applied behavioural analysis. ABA can be described as "an evidence-based method of examining and changing what people say and do". OBM constitutes of foundational elements as: performance and context, functions of behaviour, and the ABC analysis.
Within OBM the demonstrable result of behaviour is called performance. Performance is the combination of behaviour and result in a context. A performance could be the intake of an order or handling a service call. Both consists out of behaviour and results.
